It will not generally be looked at as the most fun game in the realm of gaming, but keno has millions and millions of devout followers. And so it should! It’s a constantly thrilling lotto-style game that’s a snap to master, readily available in loads of different variations, and one that can return millions of dollars for gamblers who learn its many subtle rules. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules for now.

When defining keno to newcomers, some betting pros compare it to the lottery. This is at least nearly apt, in that each game is essentially numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far can be to misunderstand the many unique characteristics that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the power to select the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the player is granted an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she wants. And it doesn’t take a super genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a standard#2 pencil like you had when you were in grade 3.

After you have marked your numbers, take your keno card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t drop this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers you and wants help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your winning card.

Now there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let us get on to something a little more complicated, yes?

Once you’ve picked your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and see the action happen on the keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown in lights. If you marked winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You must get up to the keno stand to get your winnings, as a new keno game will almost certainly start up within five minutes.

Strategy number 2: always get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can not trust yourself to beat that five-minute margin every time, you always have the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the maximum number of keno games (matching the amount of tickets) is completed, you are then able to get off your numb rump and go redeem your winnings.

Another choice is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which commonly lets you make number picks for 30 keno games or more. Hell, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you know a couple indispensable techniques for winning keno. If you are a skillful gambler, they might seem to be quite obvious. However, it doesn’t hurt to bone up on the fundamentals, and if you are a beginner gambler, every bit of information will help make your keno betting more exciting.
