It might not ordinarily be deemed the sexiest game in the realm of betting, but keno has huge amounts of devoted admirers. As well it should! It’s a constantly thrilling lotto-style game that’s a breeze to play, abundantly available in several assorted formats, and one that might pay out millions for gamblers who master its innumerable subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basic facts here.

When explaining keno to novices, some gaming masters compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain degree correct, in that each game is fundamentally numerical. But to take that comparison too far might be to discount the great many unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno players have the freedom to choose the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she feels they need. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your handpicked numbers with a every day oldball point pen like you had when you were in third grade.

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, carry your card back to the person at the keno booth. The person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your time spent.

And there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let us get on to something a bit more useful, ok?

After you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and observe the action take place on the monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear for us. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to take too much time, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, and then a new round of keno will certainly start within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always go back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 slips. When the maximum amount of keno games (fitting the number of tickets) is completed, you may then get off your lazy back side and go get your winnings.

Yet another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno card, which normally lets you make number selection for 30 games or more. Golly, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!

So now you know a number of essential techniques for winning keno. If you are an adept keno player, they may seem very obvious. Still, it will not hurt to bone up on the fundamentals, and if you are a beginner gambler, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno playing time more agreeable.
