It might not commonly be considered the best game in the realm of betting, but keno has tons of zealous followers. And so it should! It’s a routinely exciting lottery-style game that’s uncomplicated to play, readily available in loads of different styles, and one that can return mega-dollars for gamblers who learn its many subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the basics here.

When defining keno to amateurs, some betting connoisseurs compare it to lotto. This is at least in some ways correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. But to carry that comparison too far will be to discount the many unique aspect that make keno so exciting. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the ability to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is given an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to determine as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a standardball point pen like you used when you were in grade 3.

After you have checked your numbers, carry the card back to the girl at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning slip with you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your actions.

And there you have strategy number one: always make sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s advance to something a bit more advanced, ok?

After you’ve picked your numbers, settle into a comfortable keno booth and see the action unfold on the big keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you selected winners, mark your card aptly. Make sure not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get back to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and a new drawing will probably begin within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Since you don’t trust yourself to beat that five-minute deadline each time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the maximum amount of games (fitting the number of tickets) is completed, you will then be able to get off your numb back side and go collect your winnings.

Yet an additional option is known as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally lets you make number picks for thirty games or more. Golly, you can take a world tour and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!

And now you have learned a couple of indispensable methods for winning keno. If you are an experienced user, they may appear to be quite obvious. But it won’t hurt to bone up on the fundamentals, and if you are a novice gambler, every tiny bit of advice will help make your keno wagering more fun.
